Job summary

Elsevier seeks a senior Cyber Security professional to lead incident response for the global information security team. You will conduct forensic investigations on endpoints and cloud platforms, develop incident reports, and proactively detect high-confidence threats to protect Elsevier’s assets and services.

The role requires advanced cloud security knowledge, IR experience, and ability to drive remediation programs.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of cloud-agnostic infrastructure.
• Ability to conduct forensic and incident response investigations.
• Identify emerging security threats and mitigations.
• Develop and implement security improvement and remediation programs.
• Experience analyzing security events in cloud and web-based environments.
• Licensing/certification: CCFE, GCFE, CISSP, CISM, SANS, GIAC, ISACA, CSRIC or related.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full life-cycle of incident response investigations for all reported security incidents.
• Develop comprehensive incident reports and investigation summaries.
• Collect intelligence to proactively detect high-confidence threats.
• Analyze and tune security controls; define mitigation rules and troubleshoot related issues.
• Review tools, applications, and processes to strengthen current security capabilities.
• Lead analysis of security events for anomalous activity and coordinate with peers to safeguard assets.
