Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a senior cyber security professional to join our global information security organization as the lead incident responder, researching threats, exploits, and mitigations and providing key insights to protect our assets.

You will drive incident response life cycles across cloud and on‑premises environments, produce comprehensive reports, and collaborate with peers to strengthen controls and detect high‑confidence threats.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of cloud-agnostic security.
• Experience conducting forensic and incident response investigations.
• Ability to analyze security events for anomalies and identify threats.
• Experience developing security improvement and remediation programs.
• Familiarity with licensing/certifications such as CCFE, CISSP, CISM, SANS, GIAC, ISACA.

Responsibilities

• Help improve resilience of security protection and mitigation technologies and processes to protect assets.
• Develop and execute incident response plans; conduct cyber forensic investigations on endpoints and cloud platforms; lead end-to-end investigations.
• Develop incident reports and intelligence to proactively detect high-confidence threats to brand and infrastructure.
• Analyze and tune security controls; define mitigation rules; support troubleshooting of detection or protection technologies.
• Review existing tools and processes to strengthen current security capabilities and identify gaps or solutions.
• Lead analysis of security events for anomalous activity and collaborate with peers to safeguard information assets.
