Job summary

Elsevier seeks a senior cyber security incident response expert to join the global information security team. You will lead investigations, research threats, and develop incident response plans across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will also produce detailed incident reports, collect intelligence to detect threats, and help optimize security controls while collaborating with peer groups to safeguard assets and data.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of cloud-agnostic security architectures.
• Experience in forensic and incident-response investigations.
• Understanding of incident response workflow and risk mitigation.
• Ability to analyze security events for anomalies and emerging threats.
• Ability to develop and implement security improvements and remediation programs.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment and malware analysis.
• Investigation in cloud and web-based environments.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, SANS or ISACA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leading the full life-cycle of incident response investigations.
• Developing and executing security incident response plans.
• Developing comprehensive incident reports and investigation summaries.
• Collecting intelligence to proactively detect high-confidence threats.
• Analyzing and tuning security controls, scripting mitigation rules, and troubleshooting issues.
• Reviewing tools and processes to strengthen security capabilities.
• Leading analysis of security events and collaborating to safeguard assets.
