Job summary

Kaplan North America seeks a Senior Counsel, Employment Law to advise on labor and employment issues, draft and negotiate related contracts, and support HR and Operations. This role is fully remote with travel less than 25% and reports to the General Counsel or Associate General Counsel.

The ideal candidate has a JD, bar admission, and 5+ years of experience in advising mid-to-large commercial clients on employment law within corporate or law firm settings, including contract work for employment

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active state Bar admission.
• At least five years advising mid-to-large commercial clients on employment and labor law; experience in government or regulatory actions or litigation.
• Experience drafting and managing employment, vendor, and HR-related contracts and transactions.

Responsibilities

• Advise Kaplan North America on labor and employment law and related regulatory issues.
• Draft, negotiate, and respond to employment, independent contractor, and HR-related contracts.
• Support HR and Operations with employment and labor issues; act as a corporate generalist across multiple legal disciplines.
