You’ll work closely with design and performance teams, ensure compliance in a regulated industry, and leverage AI tools to generate ideas at scale while maintaining sharp, persuasive writing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience writing direct response or performance copy.
• Portfolio includes Direct Mail and paid social with results to speak to.
• Journalist mindset to find compelling angles.
• Deep command of direct response principles: offer construction, headline, hook, CTAs, urgency.
• Comfort with testing, metrics: reaction rate, CPA, ROAS, and using results to sharpen work.
• Experience crafting messages for audiences across ages, incomes, and genders, in sensitive topics like life insurance.
• Fluent with AI tools for concepting, ideation, and writing; ability to generate at scale while applying taste as a filter.
• Ability to generate high volume of concepts without losing sharpness and collaborating with teams.

Responsibilities

• Concept and write copy for Direct Mail, from brief to final delivery.
• Create headlines, body copy and CTAs for paid social ads across Meta and other platforms.
• Develop new angles, offers and messaging territories to keep Ethos urgent.
• Write against clear test hypotheses and iterate results into the next copy round.
• Collaborate with designers, the Creative Director of Paid Social, and performance marketing to inform future writing.
• Partner with compliance and legal to ensure copy meets regulations without losing edge.
• Use AI in concepting and writing to generate ideas at volume and iterate quickly.
• Write with a performance lens: hooks, arguments, and reasons to act now.
