Job summary

Iris Energy is seeking a Construction Supervisor - Controls / Automation to lead field installation, integration, and testing of BMS, PLCs, and DDC systems for mission-critical data center infrastructure. You will direct field personnel and subcontractors, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure safe, efficient delivery aligned with project requirements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial building automation and controls, including at least 2 years in supervisory capacity.
Experience supervising installation and integration of controls in commercial/industrial environments; data centers, HVAC, liquid-cooling, or central plants preferred.
Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, network architectures, and protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, Profibus, EtherNet/IP).
Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, sequences of operations, and manufacturer specs.
Knowledge of NEC, UL, ASHRAE, ISA, NFPA standards; OSHA 30 certs preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise controls technicians, integration specialists, and subcontractors across project disciplines.
Plan daily activities, assign crews, coordinate access, and monitor productivity to milestones.
Oversee installation, wiring, termination, and mounting of control panels, PLCs, DDCs, sensors, and network hardware.
Review control schematics, network architectures, and sequences of operations for constructability.
Coordinate testing, inspections, and system readiness before point‑to‑point checkout.
Support final commissioning and commissioning tests; troubleshoot active control loops.
