Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Identity Platform team within Consumer Engineering. The role focuses on building, securing, and scaling infrastructure powering identity services for millions of users.

You will design for resiliency, leverage cloud-native tech, and drive automation across the software lifecycle while enabling telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. for a flexible, high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development in a cloud-native environment.
• 3+ years in AWS (EKS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, IAM, KMS, S3).
• 3+ years building infrastructure with code (Terraform).
• 3+ years automation of CI/CD (GitHub Actions or Harness).
• 3+ years of programming in Java/Go/Python/Shell/JavaScript.
• 2+ years using monitoring/logging tools (Datadog, Kibana, Splunk, OpenSearch).

Responsibilities

• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform) on AWS.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and improve code quality.
• Design resilient, scalable, secure identity platform solutions.
• Implement comprehensive application alerting and monitoring for production reliability.
• Develop automation for support processes and operational tasks.
• Evaluate AI productivity capabilities to inform design and innovation.
• Analyze security threats using AWS WAF and monitoring suites.
• Coordinate performance and capacity testing with development teams.
• Manage patch cadences and incident response for production.
• Provide release management and post-deployment support.
• Collaborate across teams to apply best practices and meet business goals.
