Job summary

HistoSonics is seeking a Sr. Clinical Applications Specialist to lead the onboarding of the commercial team, bridging classroom learning with hands-on procedures in histotripsy.

You will mentor new hires, validate competency, and ensure safe, effective field deployment across diverse clinical settings. Based remotely with Midwest/Chicago alignment, you will travel up to 70% to support onboarding, training events, and customer sites, partnering with training leaders to continuously improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical discipline strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in clinical applications, clinical education, medical affairs, or post-market clinical support within medical devices or interventional medicine.
• Strong understanding of image-guided procedures, treatment workflow, and physician training models.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret clinical data, evaluate safety trends, and communicate complex clinical concepts clearly.
• Excellent communication skills, including translating clinical evidence into field-ready guidance.
• Ability to travel (approx. 70%) to support field insight gathering, training, and Medical Affairs collaboration.
• Experience with Class II or III medical devices.
• Experience collaborating with medical affairs, field clinical teams, and clinical workflow experts.

Responsibilities

• Execute the field immersion phase of onboarding with hands-on procedural coaching and real-world case exposure.
• Develop the clinical competency and field readiness of new hires through structured coaching and assessments.
• Coach new hires on clinical workflow, physician interaction, imaging optimization, and treatment planning.
• Conduct structured competency evaluations and provide timely developmental feedback.
• Maintain documentation of onboarding progress and learning milestones in the LMS.
• Identify knowledge gaps and implement individualized development plans for onboarding.
• Travel extensively to customer sites, training events, and internal meetings to support onboarding and field development.
• Partner with Clinical Training and Clinical Applications teams to improve curricula and learning resources.
