Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Level 4) in Irvine, CA to lead civil design, site development, permitting, and construction coordination for utility-scale solar and BESS projects.

The role requires expertise in grading, hydrology modeling, stormwater management, geotechnical assessments, and regulatory compliance. You will mentor staff and drive cross-disciplinary collaboration within EPC teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of civil site development, grading design, hydrology modeling, and permitting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; HydroCAD/HEC-RAS and GIS experience.
• PE license or NABCEP PV Professional preferred.
• Advanced stormwater and regulatory permitting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design and site development for utility-scale projects.
• Coordinate with EPC teams and regulatory agencies on permitting.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure technical excellence.
• Oversee QA/QC of civil deliverables and risk assessments.
• Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with regulations.
