Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an experienced requirements analyst to lead the capture and documentation of software development requirements for a federal-focused project. Remote work is available, with preference for candidates holding a Public Trust clearance and VA-related experience.

You will coordinate with business users, IT, and leadership to elaborate and document requirements in ALM tools and to manage backlog items and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software development and SAFe/agile practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication with ability to convey complex topics to varied audiences.
• High attention to detail, customer service mindset, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Experience performing independent research to resolve complex questions.
• Advanced Excel skills and MS Office proficiency required.
• Expertise with JIRA and requirements management in ALM environments.
• Experience in large, agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in ALM tools.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform agile requirement management.
• Elaborate user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and specifications.
• Gather and document requirements from customers, users, and stakeholders.
• Refine user stories and decompose into backlog items with acceptance criteria.
• Use ALM tools (JIRA) for requirements, testing, and defect management.
• Track system and business requirements and ensure traceability with tests and risks.
• Validate requirements and integration; conduct backlog refinement sessions.
