Job summary

Data Society Group is seeking an onshore Senior Back-End Engineer to lead backend microservices architecture while guiding a pod of offshore engineers. You will own API contracts, CI/CD governance, and security practices, ensuring a production-ready backend across Azure services.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of back-end development experience with Python and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Fullstack engineer with backend focus and React/TypeScript frontend capability.
• Experience leading or directing offshore back-end engineering teams.
• Design and build REST APIs exposed through API gateway (Azure APIM preferred).
• Proficiency with Azure SQL, schema design, and delta-refreshed caches.
• Experience with Azure Service Bus or similar messaging, including retry and dead-letter handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend microservices architecture and oversee offshore engineers.
• Design Azure SQL transactional cache and REST endpoints via APIM.
• Implement write-path logic routing through Azure Service Bus to ERP systems.
• Own CI/CD pipeline security with Veracode SAST/SCA scans.
• Lead bi-weekly sprint demos and client handoff; manage defects in SIT/UAT/post-launch.
