AAPC is seeking an experienced Auditor to remotely assess medical records across specialties, ensuring documentation supports coding accuracy and compliance with AMA, CMS, and OIG guidelines. You will prepare audit findings, provide specialty-specific insights, and recommend improvements while maintaining high production and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of auditing experience.
• Auditing across multiple specialties and coding scenarios.
• Knowledge of AMA, OIG, CMS guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to own an entire project.
• Detail oriented and deadline driven.
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word) and internet.
• Ability to multitask and meet SLAs.
• Excellent customer service.
• Time management and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Audit medical records across specialties to validate documentation supporting E/M services and codes; identify gaps and opportunities.
• Research regulatory, payer, and specialty guidelines as needed.
• Prepare audit summary findings and recommendations to support documentation improvement and coding accuracy.
• Maintain production standards and quality metrics (95%+).
• Uphold department audit standards and guidelines across specialties.
• Support KPIs, SLAs, and team goals.
• Engage in continuous upskilling to support evolving client needs.
• Collaborate to identify process improvements for efficiency.
