The role focuses on desk reviews and audits of Medicare cost reports for diverse provider types, including complex hospitals, with opportunities to mentor Auditors and In-Charge Auditors. The position requires deep knowledge of CMS regulations, supervisory review skills, and the ability to lead special projects while maintaining deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in auditing, accounting, analytics or finance.
• Uniform Desk Review (UDR) and in-charge auditor experience.
• CMS standards-based testing and documentation experience.
• Experience reviewing Medicare cost reports (DSH/IME/GME etc.).
• Ability to mentor junior auditors and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor audit staff; ensure CMS regulation compliance and documentation quality.
• Perform complex cost reports analyses and rate reviews for hospitals of various sizes.
• Coordinate field audits, desk reviews and provider communications with professional demeanor.
• Review and coach staff on reimbursement methodologies and testing procedures.
• Attend conferences and provide Continuing Education for staff as needed.
• Complete special CMS-related projects on schedule and with quality output.
