Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate General Counsel in the M&A legal group to guide complex transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and joint ventures across domestic and international work.

The role requires JD, 3+ years in transactional law, 1+ year M&A, strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Salary range is $134,600 to $230,800 per year; comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree with an active license to practice law in at least one state.
• 3+ years of progressively senior experience in complex transactional legal work.
• 1+ years of Mergers & Acquisitions experience.
• Experience directing staff and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Strategic thinking with ability to develop and execute long-term plans.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of legal advice and services in areas such as M&A, acquisitions, divestitures, investments, joint ventures, and related legal functions.
• Negotiate and execute complex M&A transactions and other strategic priorities.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders and oversee outside advisors.
• Assess legal risks and collaborate with business and operational teams to mitigate.
• Provide executives with insights on complex legal issues and their commercial implications.
