Job summary

Trina Storage North America is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to lead prequalification, pre-sales design, and technical proposal creation for utility-scale battery energy storage systems in the US. You will guide internal stakeholders, coordinate with sales, product management, project management, and system engineering, and travel up to 25% as needed.

The role requires an engineering degree and 3–5 years in externally facing engineering with emphasis on energy storage or related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years in an externally facing engineering role focused on technical sales of utility-scale solar, wind, or battery energy storage systems.
• Robust knowledge of key components of battery energy storage systems.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead prequalification, pre-sales design, and technical proposal creation for utility-scale battery energy storage systems.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise to stakeholders throughout the sales process.
• Lead negotiations on techno-commercial aspects of supply, service, and performance agreements.
• Foster strong client relationships and ensure successful contract outcomes.
• Lead technical hand-over to project engineering after contract signature.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive ESS solution development.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and provide strategic insights.
