Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Microservices Developer for our 100% remote agile team supporting EPA customers. You will collaborate with government customers and GDIT developers to design modular Spring Boot services and integrate with legacy systems.

You will apply best practices for performance, security and CI/CD, document designs with Confluence, and mentor junior developers while solving complex data-flow challenges across microservices and databases.

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years in Java enterprise application development.
• Experience with modular API design and persistence architecture.
• Knowledge of REST API design in Spring and data access patterns.
• Experience documenting designs with Confluence or similar.
• US citizenship and EPA Public Trust Level 4 eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy applications using Spring Boot and modern Java (17+).
• Decompose monoliths into microservices with proper REST and event-driven communication.
• Integrate with EPA systems, databases, and APIs ensuring data consistency.
• Implement security best practices including authentication and authorization.
• Develop and review unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; mentor juniors.
