General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer Sr Principal for a 100% remote role with East Coast hours.

You will lead and mentor a distributed Agile team while hands-on with architecture, design, and code reviews of enterprise Java/Spring Boot/Angular applications. The role requires extensive AWS expertise, REST/microservices development, and strong cloud security, observability, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Developer or higher certification.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in technical leadership roles.
• Strong Java/Spring Boot development experience; Java 21+ preferred.
• Experience with Angular/TypeScript and REST APIs.

Responsabilités

• Lead and mentor a distributed Agile team while staying hands-on with architecture and reviews.
• Serve as technical point of contact between team, leadership, and customer.
• Translate requirements into technical specs, architecture, and plans.
• Design and maintain enterprise apps using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, REST, databases.
• Provide AWS architecture guidance, containers, security, observability, and resiliency.
• Build, deploy, and troubleshoot Docker/Kubernetes environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design cloud infra with Terraform/OpenTofu and manage data with PostgreSQL/Oracle.
• Apply modern patterns: microservices, caching, testing, DevSecOps, tracing.
• Support observability and production troubleshooting with OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, etc.
• Promote best practices and mentor team on workload, performance, and development.
