Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking a Senior Ansible Automation Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise automation initiative for a federal financial institution. You will design, develop, and maintain automation across Linux, Windows, cloud, and hybrid environments, leveraging Ansible, Python, FastAPI, and REST APIs.

The role requires 7+ years in automation/DevOps, strong scripting skills, and experience with IaC and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise automation, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or software development.
• Expert-level experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Playbooks, Roles, Modules, Collections, and Workflows.
• Strong programming and scripting experience with Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• Experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI or Flask.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation frameworks.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, source control, and automated testing.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, Windows Server, and cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
• Experience integrating automation across enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with Git, version control, and software development best practices.
• Experience working within Agile or SAFe environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise automation solutions using Ansible Playbooks, Roles, Modules, and Workflows.
• Build scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
• Develop advanced automation using Python, Bash, and PowerShell to streamline complex operational tasks.
• Design and build RESTful APIs using FastAPI or Flask to integrate and orchestrate enterprise automation workflows.
• Implement automation across Linux, Windows, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, version control processes, automated testing, and deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Security, and Operations teams within Agile and SAFe environments.
• Ensure automation solutions follow enterprise security standards, secure coding practices, and operational governance.
• Troubleshoot production automation issues and provide ongoing support for deployed solutions.
• Create technical documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.
• Evaluate emerging automation technologies and contribute to automation standards and best practices.
