Job summary

Merck is seeking a Senior Territory Representative to lead sales, market development, and growth across assigned geography in animal health. You will develop and implement territory business plans, strengthen relationships with veterinarians, producers, and distribution partners, and drive product adoption and market share across our Animal Health portfolio.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred (Animal Science, Agriculture, Business, Marketing).
• 5 years of relevant sales/territory experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 10 years without a bachelor’s.
• Knowledge of beef and dairy industries including Cow/Calf, Feedlot, and Dairy production.
• Proven ability to develop and execute territory business plans to drive sales and market share.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the territory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory business plans to drive sales growth and market share.
• Build relationships with veterinarians, producers, distribution partners, nutritionists, and industry influencers.
• Identify opportunities, market dynamics and competitive threats, and plan growth strategies.
• Drive demand generation through customer engagement, events, and education programs.
• Collaborate with distribution teams and account managers to align objectives and maximize territory performance.
• Provide insights to leadership on market trends and business planning.
• Promote the Animal Health portfolio across species and channels.
• Analyze territory performance and optimize resource allocation.
• Manage territory expenses to maximize ROI.
• Communicate market intelligence to cross-functional teams.
• Partner with technical services to deliver value-added programs.
