Job summary

Instacart is seeking an Android Engineer to act as a technical lead within the Pick & Deliver organization. You will shape and deliver high-visibility mobile experiences that power in-store and delivery operations, partnering with Product, Design, Backend, iOS, and retailers to meet complex needs.

You will own projects from discovery to delivery, drive performance and reliability, and mentor engineers while shaping the Android platform roadmap for expansion and scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with Android.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android practices (Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, RxJava).
• Experience leading complex cross-functional projects from design to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and execution of Android experiences for retailers and shoppers.
• Design, build, test, and maintain high-quality Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and RxJava.
• Partner with Product, Design, Backend, iOS, retailers, and vendors to define scalable solutions.
