Job summary

Coinbase is hiring an Analytics Engineer for the Compliance Technology team. You will build and own end-to-end data pipelines powering compliance detection and decisioning, partnering with Compliance, Product, and Engineering to ensure signals are accurate, auditable, and scalable.

You will own data quality, standardize instrumentation, and develop metrics to measure control effectiveness, reporting to leadership and auditors across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of analytics/data engineering experience.
• Advanced SQL with transformations and data quality checks.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt, Airflow, or equivalents.
• Ability to work on ambiguous, cross-functional projects in regulated environments.
• Python used for automation and data analysis.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain datasets and data models powering compliance controls.
• Own data quality, validation, lineage, and audit-ready outputs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to close data gaps and standardize instrumentation.
• Improve detection signal quality while reducing non-actionable noise.
• Create measurement and reporting pipelines for Compliance leaders and auditors.
