Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join the Compliance Technology team. You will build end-to-end data pipelines powering compliance detection and decisioning, partnering with Compliance, Product, and Engineering to ensure measurable controls and auditable outputs.

You will own data models for case, alert, and transaction datasets, drive data quality, and deliver scalable tooling that makes compliance data trustworthy and actionable across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of analytics engineering or data engineering in regulated environments.
• Advanced SQL with complex transformations and data quality checks.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data models using dbt, Airflow, or equivalents.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional projects.
• Python used for automation, pipeline development, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain curated datasets and data models powering compliance controls across monitoring and screening systems.
• Own data quality through validation, monitoring, lineage tracking, and documentation for audit readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to close upstream data gaps and standardize instrumentation.
• Improve detection signal quality and define success metrics for controlled rollouts.
• Create repeatable reporting pipelines for Compliance leaders, operations, and auditors.
