Job summary

Wonderlic is seeking a Senior Research Scientist at the intersection of I-O psychology and machine learning to own the Jobs Engine and deliver scalable, defensible job analysis insights.

You will partner with product, engineering, and I-O psychologists to translate scientific requirements into AI-powered systems, improve coverage and accuracy, and advance the platform's ability to inform hiring, development, and coaching decisions for millions of users.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in I-O psychology or closely related field (quantitative focus preferred).
• Demonstrated ML engineering experience with shipped, production-grade systems.
• Experience applying modern NLP methods to behavioral, assessment-based, or labor market data.
• Minimum 3 years of applied industry experience; 5+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the continued development of the Jobs Engine and its architecture.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and I-O psychologists to translate requirements into AI systems.
• Apply I-O psychology principles to ensure defensibility and legal compliance in outputs.
• Drive scientific rigor and establish a roadmap for AI integration across the platform.
