Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• 8+ years in software, data, or machine learning with 4+ years AI/ML.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; substitutions allowed.
• Experience building distributed ML with Spark, Iceberg.
• Strong statistics background and ML algorithm experience.
• Proficient in Python and Airflow; familiar with AWS services.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, and vector databases.
• Ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy distributed ML models in large data environments.
• Build agentic AI workflows with LLMs, MCP, and multi-step agents.
• Develop AI-driven data analysis using Athena, Trino, Spark SQL.
• Optimize AI-generated queries and distributed query performance.
• Maintain self-hosted AI/ML model-serving environments with Kubernetes.
• Orchestrate model training and evaluation using Airflow and AWS.
• Collaborate with data and cloud engineers to productionize AI/ML in enterprise data pipelines.
• Apply responsible AI, bias assessment, and data handling practices.
• Provide technical leadership and document architectures and runbooks.
