Job summary

Palomar is seeking an AVP, Actuarial with a strong pricing background to join our growing actuarial team in the US. This hands-on role partners with Underwriting, Product, and executive leaders to shape pricing decisions in real time.

You will apply Palomar’s pricing toolkit, lead rate reviews, and monitor market trends across segments while mentoring others and driving cross-functional collaboration. A dynamic, autonomous work environment is offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of actuarial experience, ideally in pricing
• ACAS/FCAS designation or equivalent
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Apply and shape Palomar’s in-house pricing toolkit for day-to-day analyses
• Serve as pricing actuary for underwriting, product, and leadership teams
• Lead rate reviews across segments with data-driven insights
• Monitor competitive pricing trends and shape new frameworks
• Evaluate programs, renewals, and rate adequacy with an actuarial lens
• Build relationships with MGAs and support pricing structures
• Collaborate across segments as business priorities shift
