Job summary

Palomar Holdings, Inc. is seeking an AVP, Actuarial with a strong pricing background to join our growing actuarial team. This is a hands-on role that works directly with Underwriting, Product and executive leaders to shape pricing decisions in real time.

You will lead rate reviews, build Palomar’s pricing toolkit, monitor market trends and work across segments to deliver fast, well-grounded results with an actuarial lens. A dynamic, collaborative environment awaits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years actuarial experience, preferably pricing with some reserving/reinsurance
• FCAS or high-functioning ACAS preferred
• Proficiency in AI-assisted modeling and R, Python, SQL
• Strong ability to translate complex analyses for stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Apply and shape Palomar’s pricing toolkit for day-to-day analyses
• Act as hands-on pricing actuary for UW, Product, and leadership
• Lead rate reviews and market-facing indications across segments
• Build monitoring framework for competitive and market pricing trends
• Evaluate new programs and renewals with an actuarial lens
• Maintain relationships with MGAs and support pricing structures
• Flex across segments as business priorities shift
