Aprio, LLP in Columbia, Maryland is seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to join their Outsourced Accounting team. In this role, you will lead the monthly close process for clients in the Government Contracting sector, along with training junior staff while ensuring superior customer service. The ideal candidate will utilize their accounting expertise, including a 4 Year Accounting degree and 2-4 years of experience.

The position offers a salary range of $90,000 - $125,000 a year, with comprehensive benefits including health insurance from day one, flexible working options, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• 4 Year Accounting degree required.
• 2-4 Years experience in Accounting.
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or Unanet preferred.
• Superior time management and organization skills.
• Proficient in the use of Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a highly flexible, remote model utilizing MS Teams.
• Desire to provide top quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Establish and foster positive relationships with clients.
• Ensure timely communication on project status.
• Provide outsourced accounting services for multiple clients.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and GAAP financial statements.
• Oversee client invoicing, understanding federal contractors' billing.
• Collaborate with tax and audit associates for accurate accounting.
• Become proficient in cloud-based accounting software.
• Prepare and review monthly close entries including payroll.
