BenchPrep is seeking a hardworking Staff/Senior Accountant to support its growing operations. This remote role reports to the Controller and focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, analyzing data, and ensuring GAAP compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years as Staff Accountant or 5–8 years as Sr Accountant.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP and revenue recognition knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including account reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses across departments; report to departments as necessary.
• Ensure transactions align with GAAP and company policies.
• Review billing to ensure proper revenue recognition allocation.
• Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals in the general ledger.
• Assist in building financial statements and budget variance analysis.
• Prepare year-end schedules for the annual tax returns.
