Job summary

BenchPrep, a cloud-based learning platform for certification, seeks a Staff/Senior Accountant for our remote finance team. You will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You’ll contribute to budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements to support our financial health. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3-5 years (Staff Accountant), or 5-8 (Sr Accountant) years in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of financial statement preparation, GAAP, and revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including account reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze and review expenditures, confirm proper allocation, and report to departments as needed.
• Review transactions for GAAP compliance and company policies.
• Analyze billing to ensure proper revenue recognition and allocations.
• Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals in the general ledger.
• Assist in building financial statements and budgets; perform variance analysis.
• Prepare year-end schedules for tax returns.
• Look for ways to improve accounting processes and procedures.
