Job summary

BenchPrep is hiring a Staff/Senior Accountant for a remote finance role. You will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements.

Key duties include account reconciliations, journal entries, AR/AP/billing, revenue recognition reviews, monthly/quarterly/yearly accruals, and assisting with year-end tax schedules. CPA preferred; strong GAAP knowledge essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years in accounting or auditing; public accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments with reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper revenue recognition.
• Review general ledger and post accruals monthly, quarterly, yearly.
• Assist in building financial statements and budget variance analysis.
• Assist in budget design and year-end tax schedules.
