Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant for a fully remote role. You will maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and tax schedules. A strong GAAP background and revenue recognition experience are essential, with CPA preferred.

You’ll collaborate with finance to improve processes, manage reconciliations, and ensure compliance. The position reports to the Controller and offers a competitive base salary and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3-5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5-8 (Sr Accountant) years in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, GAAP, and revenue recognition.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions: reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses by department; prepare reports.
• Ensure transactions align with GAAP and company policies.
• Review billing transactions for proper revenue recognition.
• Prepare journal entries for accruals; assist in financial statements and budgets.
• Support year-end tax schedules and drive process improvements.
