Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is seeking an A&A Specialist III (Mid-Level) to oversee comprehensive security and privacy assessments for DOE systems, including cloud and on-prem environments. You will identify risks, document findings, and guide remediation with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.

The role demands 5–7 years of federal security experience, strong NIST SP 800-53 and RMF knowledge, and the ability to obtain DOE Q clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.
• 5–7 years of experience conducting security control assessments or similar work.
• Experience with SAT/SCAs/ISSO roles and related coordination.
• Strong understanding of NIST SP 800-53 and NIST RMF requirements.
• Experience with federal cybersecurity frameworks and continuous monitoring.
• Ability to analyze technical docs, identify gaps, and report clearly.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and lead comprehensive security and privacy control assessments.
• Evaluate deficiencies and oversee corrective actions to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Prepare detailed assessment reports and present findings to Team Leaders.
• Lead assessments in cloud (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS) and on-prem environments.
• Create and review A&A packages, SARs, SAPs, and risk assessments for accuracy.
• Oversee findings packages and remediation planning with stakeholders.
• Coordinate system change requests and data calls for audits.

Connaissances

Bachelor’s Degree / 4+ years

Security assessment experience
