Job summary

CoLab, a North American remote-friendly company, is building the future of 3D AutoReview. We seek a backend engineer to design scalable services for 3D design analysis, geometry parsing, and AI-assisted review workflows.

You’ll own backend systems, collaborate across teams, and shape how AI-driven design reviews evolve for leading engineering organizations. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in backend development, CAD kernel exposure, and ML/LLM production experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience in a product or platform team.
• Strong 3D math background with CAD kernel experience (HOOPS/OpenCascade/Parasolid).
• Experience with ML/AI/LLM concepts and productionization.
• Experience deploying ML services in cloud infrastructure such as AWS SageMaker or Bedrock.

Responsibilities

• Become a key contributor in backend development for 3D AutoReview features, from pipeline architecture to production delivery.
• Experiment with geometry parsing, quality detection, and context generation for 3D model review.
• Partner with backend, frontend, and product teams to drive high-impact features with speed, quality, and cross-functional alignment.
• Collaborate with ML teams to incorporate intelligence into the 3D review process and develop extensible rule systems.
• Help set and maintain high technical standards across the team.
