Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking an Applied Mechanics Engineer for a remote role with occasional travel to Idaho Falls, ID. The engineer will analyze and model structural and mechanical systems for a novel advanced nuclear reactor project.

Responsibilities include dynamic seismic analysis, ASME BPVC and ASCE 7 compliance, and developing physics-based models. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers and contribute to safety analysis and design documentation.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required with 8+ years of experience.
• Citizenship required for government contract.
• Experience with seismic and structural dynamics analyses.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on novel advanced reactor.
• Perform thermomechanical analyses of reactor internals.
• Apply ASME BPVC and ASCE 7 to analyses.
• Develop physics-based models to support design decisions.
• Document analyses and provide peer review.
