Job summary

Great Lakes Crop Care, a leading agricultural solutions provider, is seeking an Seed Sales Account Manager for a REMOTE territory across Southern Michigan and NE Indiana. You will prospect growers, manage relationships, and deliver agronomic guidance to optimize hybrid selection and seed placement.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in agronomy or related field and 3+ years in agricultural sales or consulting, with travel within the territory and strong CRM usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Business or related field, plus 3 years in agricultural sales or agronomic consulting.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive agricultural market.
• Working knowledge of corn and soybean production systems, pests, diseases, weed management, and seed/crop protection products.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with producers to translate technical info into actionable guidance.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; willingness to travel extensively in territory.
• CCA designation preferred; active progress toward certification would be a plus.
• Experience with precision agriculture tools, soil sampling platforms, or variable-rate fertility programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prospect potential grower customers.
• Serve as primary contact for customers, building trust and delivering high-quality experience during sales and agronomic support cycle.
• Build and manage a portfolio of corn and soybean grower accounts within the territory, focusing on retention and seed wallet-share growth year over year.
• Conduct structured agronomic consultations – from hybrid selection and seed placement – to position the right products at the right time.
• Prepare and present customized product and program proposals; negotiate pricing within guidelines.
• Identify and convert prospective grower accounts through networking, referrals, and field presence.
