Job summary

The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California is seeking a Security Specialist for the 61 FSS (NH-0080-02, GS-05/11 Equivalent). The role implements and administers the Information Security Program for a civilian and military workforce.

Responsibilities include reviewing policy, processing clearances, and advising leadership on security requirements. Telework is eligible and a Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of current and traditional security policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Information/Industrial/Personnel Security Programs.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct a medium-sized organization.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer the Information Security Program.
• Review classification management, downgrading, declassification, and destruction procedures.
• Screen and verify security clearances and process access determinations.
• Advise senior leadership on position sensitivity requirements.
• Maintain security records and prepare documentation for investigations.
• Plan and direct security functions with minimal oversight.
