Cardinal Health is seeking a Manager, Security Engineering & Platforms to lead multiple cybersecurity engineering teams, overseeing SIEM, SOAR, and defense infrastructure in a remote-first environment. The role emphasizes people and technical leadership, developing staff, driving engineering strategy, and ensuring reliable operation of security platforms across cloud and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security engineering teams in large enterprises.
• Proven ability to manage cybersecurity platforms and services end-to-end.
• Strong cloud and on-prem infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multiple Security Engineering & Platform teams.
• Establish strategic direction and roadmaps for cybersecurity platforms and capabilities.
• Collaborate with internal customers, technology teams, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and support their professional and technical development.
• Oversee administration, support, and optimization of enterprise security monitoring, automation, and cyber defense platforms.
• Manage infrastructure supporting cybersecurity technologies, including cloud-hosted and on-premises environments.
• Drive automation initiatives through orchestration platforms, scripting, APIs, and engineering best practices.
• Ensure platforms are monitored, maintained, and continuously improved to maximize security effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Lead platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, integrations, and modernization efforts.
• Support incident response and security operations teams through reliable platform engineering and service delivery.
• Execute security engineering projects and initiatives that improve organizational security capabilities.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and technology evaluations.
• Participate in proof-of-concept testing, technology assessments, and strategic platform selection activities.
• Partner with Security Architecture teams to transition new technologies into operational support models.
• Develop and maintain operational processes, standards, and documentation supporting security engineering functions.
• Manage team workload, priorities, staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
