Job summary

Samsara seeks a Security Operations lead to monitor, respond to, and manage security incidents. You will drive incident response strategy, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and develop automated workflows and runbooks to streamline investigations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, Legal, and Compliance across multiple time zones, including on‑call rotations. A degree in CS/Info Security or equivalent experience is required, with familiarity in NIST, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, FedRAMP.
• Experience in security incident response and investigations.
• Ability to create runbooks and automated workflows to support investigations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and analyze alerts.
• Lead information security incidents from strategy to closure and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate services and tools to support security operations, incident response, and insider threat.
• Communicate investigative findings to technical staff, executives, and legal.
• Develop scripts or tools to support investigation processes (Python).
• Mentor security operation engineers on data collection and reporting.
