Job summary

Clara is a leading platform in Latin America for payments and security operations roles. This Early Career Security Engineer will rotate through security functions in the first year, gaining ownership from month one as you protect data, validate AI outputs, and harden cloud and CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll work on anomaly detection, incident response, and cross-team collaboration, with a remote-first policy and opportunities for growth, certifications, and learning across AWS, GCP, and internal AI

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in security, IT, software engineering or related technical role.
• Working knowledge of at least one of AWS or GCP: IAM, security groups/VPC, service accounts.
• Comfort with the command line (bash), JSON/logs, and at least one language (Python/JS/Go) to spot security issues.
• Familiarity with a log query language (SPL, KQL) or willingness to learn quickly.
• Understanding of identity/authentication: OAuth, SSO, MFA, service-to-service auth.
• Hands-on experience using generative AI tools in a technical context.

Responsibilities

• Secure the AI posture without blocking adoption.
• Operate AI tooling and guardrails for data protection.
• Develop skill to verify AI-generated results by hand.
• Identify risks like prompt injection and data exfiltration.
• Triage findings from cloud security tools and IAM reviews.
• Review code and CI/CD for insecure patterns; enforce secure-by-default practices.
• Write and refine Splunk queries; maintain detection rules and dashboards.
• Document findings with evidence and coordinate incident response.
• Work incidents through incident.io and escalate when needed.
