Job summary

Soteria - Security Solutions & Advisory, based in Charleston, SC, is hiring a Security Advisor to join a fast-paced GRC team serving a growing client roster. You will assess risk, evaluate controls, and guide clients toward stronger security postures with clear, well-documented findings.

Success requires solid technical grounding, strong project management, requirements gathering, and client communication skills. Remote work is available, with occasional travel for engagements and meetings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity industry experience.
• 2+ years in cybersecurity consulting or IT audits.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, CMMC, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform control gap, risk, and compliance/regulatory assessments.
• Develop and perform social engineering simulations and training.
• Provide project management tasks to ensure timely delivery.
• Identify gaps in control implementations and provide recommendations.
• Conduct client and team interviews to evaluate IT environment and security practices.
• Develop deliverables including executive summaries, findings, reports, and action plans.
• Support Advisory team on various business areas and policy development.
• Write clear reporting detailing observations and strategic recommendations.
• Identify regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR, NYDFS) and plan to achieve compliance.
• Develop remediation plans with clients to reach desired outcomes.
• Present findings to C-suite and board-level executives.
