Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a 100% remote US-based position. The role requires advanced programming skills in C#, Java, or Python, with extensive experience in both manual and automated testing within Agile environments.

You will design and execute test plans, develop test scripts, and drive defect resolution while collaborating across project teams. A Bachelor’s degree is required and US citizenship for security clearance purposes.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java or Python.
• Experience in complex software projects and high-quality deliverables.
• Manual and automated testing experience.
• Agile/Scrum and SDLC understanding.
• Ability to write and execute test cases, scripts, and plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
• Familiar with version control (Git, Subversion).
• Understanding of performance testing and tools.
• Experience with defect tracking (JIRA/Bugzilla).
• Knowledge of databases/SQL and API testing.
• Security testing practices and tools.
• Experience with various testing types including UAT.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures.
• Write test cases, scripts and identify data for tests.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers and Leads.
• Perform tests on IT systems to ensure defect-free operation.
• Document and communicate test results and analytics.
• Support analysis of results and issue resolution.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Provide technical solutions for complex problems.
• Mentor junior testers and guide testing activities.
• Work independently or in a team to meet objectives.
