Job summary

Pearson is hiring an Associate, Scoring Services for Dance, History, Music, and other subjects. The role scores candidate responses remotely and requires a bachelor's degree and teaching certification with 2+ years in public schools. Active or recently retired practitioners may be eligible.

Scorers work remotely, with defined scoring sessions and potential part-time hours. Training and orientation may be provided; note that benefits are not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in the subject area.
• Current teaching certification in the subject area and 2+ years' recent public school experience.
• Alternative: college/university faculty member preparing candidates in the subject area.
• Bachelor's or master's degree holder teaching courses in the subject area.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Massachusetts teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and engage in consensus scoring with other scorers.
• Discuss bias types and strategies to reduce bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
