Computational Physics, Inc. (CPI) is seeking a Full-Time Scientist-Research to support Navy weather prediction model development remotely for NRL. The role focuses on running whole-atmosphere models on HPCs, analyzing outputs, and enhancing code within a distributed team to meet quarterly and annual deliverables.

U.S. citizenship is required for DoD contracts. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s or higher in atmospheric science or related fields and is proficient with MPI Fortran, C++,

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or higher in atmospheric science, computational fluid dynamics, physics, applied mathematics, meteorology, aeronomy, or related discipline.
• Experience with MPI Fortran, C++, Java; Python/IDL/MATLAB for visualization/analysis.
• Experience with code development and running atmospheric models on HPCs.

Mansioni

• Run whole-atmosphere models on Navy HPC centers and analyze outputs.
• Identify bugs, test fixes, and contribute new code via GitHub CI/CD.
• Collaborate with a dispersed multidisciplinary team to meet quarterly and annual deliverables.
• Communicate research progress effectively in weekly team meetings and GitHub updates.
