Peraton seeks a software systems engineer to support the Naval Research Laboratory's ocean modeling team at Stennis Space Center, MS. You will work on METOC pipelines, data assimilation, and HPC to optimize HYCOM and NCODA.

The role involves coding in Fortran, Python, and C++, debugging Navy systems and enhancing model performance, with strong documentation duties. Required are 5 years with a BA/BS or 3 years with an MS/MA, plus a Secret clearance.

Formación

• Must have scientific software development experience.
• Experience with METOC/NAVY ocean modeling software is preferred.
• Ability to work with HPC environments and deploy scientific codes.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, test, and debug scientific software for ocean models (HYCOM, NCODA).
• Maintain documentation and contribute to reports/publications.
• Support transition of research to operational systems and collaborate with Navy systems like NCOM/NCODA-var.
