Responsibilities

  • Develops, enhances, and maintains scientific software supporting NASA Earth science research and modeling initiatives.
  • Collaborate with scientists and technical teams to modernize scientific applications, improve computational performance, and implement software solutions that support advanced modeling, data analysis, and high-performance computing environments.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize scientific software supporting climate and Earth system models.
  • Modernize legacy code by translating and enhancing scientific applications using current programming languages and development practices.
  • Improve model performance through code optimization and GPU-accelerated computing.
  • Collaborate with scientists and researchers to implement new model capabilities and computational enhancements.
  • Test, validate, and document software to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
