Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Communications Manager for Science Media Relations, a remote and flexible role focused on promoting cardiovascular science. You will craft news releases, oversee media pitches, and coordinate with researchers and stakeholders across our journals and meetings.

You will lead development of news kits, messaging, and multimedia materials while supporting strategic communication plans for traditional and social media channels.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of excellent writing and editing skills with solid knowledge of AP Style (5 years preferred).
• Three (3) years of managing the submission of press, promotional, or related content.
• At least two (2) years of demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Review manuscripts accepted for publication in our scientific journals and abstracts for presentation at meetings.
• Develop news releases, pitches, and multimedia assets to promote research featured in journals and abstracts.
• Collaborate to review abstracts, provide peer edits, and develop talking points for authors and experts.
