Job summary

Macmillan Learning is seeking a School & Library Marketing Assistant to join the School & Library Marketing team, working on picture books, middle grade, and young adult titles. You’ll manage title distribution, submit awards, and support the department’s conferences and digital marketing efforts.

You’ll report to the Associate Director of School & Library Marketing and collaborate across the team to develop contacts and craft engaging pitches for educators and librarians.

Qualifications

• Detail- and deadline-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written communication for social media and web content.
• Ability to network with teachers and librarians and expand school/library relationships.
• Judgment and decision-making when working with authors and colleagues.
• Clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Some college or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute title distribution to trade publications, educators, librarians, academics, and other contacts monthly.
• Develop and maintain contact databases with the Associate Director of School & Library Marketing.
• Oversee major state award submissions including mailing titles and paperwork for award consideration.
• Coordinate conferences throughout the year, including travel 4-5 times to conferences.
• Assist digital marketing initiatives, including sweepstakes and content for social media and the School & Library website.
• Present at educator and librarian meetings with compelling pitches.
