Job summary

Macmillan Publishers is seeking a School & Library Marketing Assistant to join Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group’s School & Library Marketing team. You will help distribute titles, submit for awards, and support conferences and digital marketing initiatives for picture books, middle grade, and young adult titles.

This remote role is tied to our New York, NY office at 120 Broadway. You will report to the Associate Director of School & Library Marketing and collaborate with a nationwide

Qualifications

• Extremely detail- and deadline-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written communication skills for social media and the web.
• Ability to network with teachers and librarians, broadening relationships in the school & library market.

Responsibilities

• Execute title distribution to trade publications, educators, librarians, academics, and other contacts monthly.
• Maintain and develop contact databases with the Associate Director of School & Library Marketing.
• Oversee major state award submissions, including mailing titles and submitting paperwork for award consideration.
• Coordinate with the School & Library marketing team on planning and execution of major conferences, including traveling 4-5 times a year to conferences.
• Assist with digital marketing initiatives, including sweepstakes and content creation for social media and the School & Library site.
• Present at educator and librarian book buzz meetings, including preparing presentations and generating interest with pitches.
