Job summary

EdOps is seeking a School Finance Manager to oversee a portfolio of 5–8 schools as an outsourced CFO, delivering strategic financial advice and partnering with school leaders and boards. Location is remote with flexible arrangements.

You will forecast, budget, and lead finance strategy, contribute to product development, and mentor Finance Specialists and Analysts while advancing equity and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience excelling in a School Finance Management role.
• Experience with School Leadership Team collaboration.
• Comfort with accounting; familiarity with accounting software and reports.
• Intermediate Excel knowledge (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving.
• Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable advising C-level school leaders.
• Strong organization and time management.
• Proficient with Google Workspace.
• Typically 10–15 years of experience.
• Experience leading audits.

Responsibilities

• Act as an outsourced CFO for a portfolio of 5-8 schools, advising leaders and Boards on financial and operational policies, strategic decisions, and long-term financial planning.
• Produce forward-looking financial forecasts, set budgets, and lead finance strategy development aligned with school goals and EdOps's equity commitments.
• Attend finance committee or board meetings to present and explain finance strategy.
• Analyze, model, and solve problems on a wide range of business issues.
• Engage in client listening and proactively identify and solve financial challenges.
• Provide development and informal oversight to School Finance Specialists and Analysts.
• Actively contribute to EdOps's internal finance product research and development.
