Job summary

Phileo Shared Services seeks a Part-Time Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy and oversight for partner Christian schools. The CFO reports to the Head of School and ensures financial health, compliance, and long-term sustainability. This remote role includes occasional in-person meetings in the Philadelphia area.

The position requires 7+ years in nonprofit financial leadership, GAAP expertise, and a passion for Christian education. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit or educational settings.
• Strong GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and financial compliance knowledge.
• Experience with audits, financial planning, and board reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and solid understanding of the Word of God; godly lifestyle.
• Passion for Christian education aligned with DC's mission and biblical values.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall financial strategy and planning across partner schools.
• Direct annual budgets and long-range financial forecasts.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and prepare financial reports for boards.
• Oversee audits with external auditors and risk management.
• Supervise the finance team and foster a service-oriented culture.
• Participate in key finance and strategic planning meetings.
